Is any of this stuff worth a shit? I bought a rail for my GSG-5, ( http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5791 ) you can't beat the price for 10 bucks shipped. Should be here in a few days.

I've bought many other items (flashlights, laser pointers, ipod accessories, etc) from this site and always been happy....

I'm sure the mounts and lasers are mostly cheap airsoft shit, but for some of us that just plink around, some of these might be good value.

model #? how much? I'm not in a huge hurry to buy scopes and shit for my GSG, I only bought that rail because it was 10 bucks and things that I want on that site tend to disappear from sale before I have a chance to buy them

I'm also curious because that rail is low profile, and if I get a red dot or similar, I want it to clear the iron sights...it'll need to be pretty tall, I guess....

eotechs can be found for mid $300s. If you have a $1000 gun why cheap out when buying a sight?

Because we're not SWAT, and $20 for a cheap scope/sight/laser is fun to dick around with before making a serious investment of a few hundred dollars. At least that's my thought. If I depended on the item for my life/job, I would invest more money in a sighting device, but I'm going to put it on a .22 and shoot paper with it. :o

FWIW, for my carry gun, I'm seriously thinking about getting a laser guide rod replacement....

Yeah, I know - I want to get somewhat accurate with the irons before I get any sort of real sighting device.

  13. Then why not just shoot with the irons and don't waste money on a cheap red dot?

yeah, MG said why not just shoot it with irons instead of wasting money on a piece of shit optic. and you started talking about a tacticool gsg-5.

if you want it to look tacticool, thats one thing. wasting your money is another :dunno:

Actually, I would much prefer it fired reliably than look tacticool  I have to get some loctite and take the thing apart - as it is now, I get a FTF/FTE or double feed every 4th or 5th round - pathetic. :o

  24. I know, I'm just saying that if you want to get accurate with the irons before you get a "real" sighting device, then why buy a cheap sight that you'll have to replace soon?
