Are there any EDUs out there that explain how to make a cheap, but decent lighting rig using lights bought from a basic store like Walmart?

Take any powerful light or lights and shine it thru a white sheet or other white diffusion material. Color balance for the light and there's your cheap rig.

www.diyphotography.net Got a few ideas from there

I bought 2 4ft light strips with natural sunshine bulbs at 5k temp. Put them on a light stand about 5ft. then placed them 5ft from model and the pics turned out like this

Got some lights. I can't find any flame retardant cloth though. Anyone know of a chain store that would sell some?

    :bigthumb:

gotta be careful, those lights get HOT

they take a few minutes to get fully bright too, if consistency matters.

Gotta shoot with them somewhere where heat won't be an issue
