Moving away from the political discussions for a moment...

A friend of mine's mother has had a .38 special revolver made by Charter Arms sitting around in a desk drawer. From what they have told me, it's not be shot in at least a decade, possibly longer, and I have no idea how old this thing is.

Does anyone know anything about this company, so I can make a guess as to how old it is, or what it is worth? I'm probably going to clean it up and take it to the range, her mom is really interested in shooting it again, and i just want to make sure its not going to blow up on me. Especially since I inherited a bag of mystery ammo and half of it is +p or +p+ :x:

IIRC, they've been around for a little while. I know they make a nice little snub revolver. It's nothing special, and they usually go for pretty cheap. I can't see the link you posted here at work, but a stainless 2" .38 Special revolver usually goes for ~$200 at the local gunshows.

It's not worth anything really. :dunno:

Son of Sam used a .44 Special Charter Arms.

careful how you 'dispose' of that "bag 'o' mystery ammo"

    lol @ description

wouldn't want to be putting it thru an unknown quantity revolver
