I found a few of these old tokens in my top drawer this morning and thought it would be fun to share them with you.
They are collectors items to some. Junk to others. : )

Best Viewed LARGE for the details of the wear and tear these old tokens took over the years.

    oh these are Train Tokens.
sorry you used to use them to ride the Train or the Subway.
It used to be called the M.T.A. Massachusetts Transit Authority.

Now it was replaced by a credit card type device called a Charlie Ticket.

NY had the same change, from tokens to Metrocards.

I think my hatred for them stems from the fact they installed the booths and never put up a sign showing you how to use them or what fares are.

Don't forget about how they released them in some stations but not others!

I got on at Braintree (pay to leave the fucking station for the fucking LOSE) and got out at Harvard Sq. Paid for a round trip Charlie Card at Braintree.

Go to get back on at Harvard and there's no fucking booths! I had to pay for fucking tokens and get stuck w/a card of unused passes.

luckly, when they started to install all of those, i had moved to arizona. when i moved back everything was finished, but i went to the subway and went to buy tokens and was like...hold on, wtf is this.

apparently tho, lol, if you throw a backpack over the gates, the exit sensor trips and you can walk right thru without paying. that was in the paper so im sure they are watching now. but still funny!
