My new ipod with video finally came today but unfortunately it's being stubborn. When I connect my ipod it shows the do not disconnect and everything but it won't show it in Itunes or My computer. In fact it won't let me open itunes or my computer unless it was open before the ipod went in. I know that the problem is that the ipod is set to Drive C but I can't figure out how to change it. When the ipod is in it won't let me access its properties in device manager or see the drive in disk management. I have the latest upgrades of everything and I've recently uninstalled and reinstalled. I'm using Windows XP SP 2. Does anyone know what I can do? HELLLLLLPPPPPPP

How did you get it set to show up as "C:" to begin with?

I don't know if the Disk Mgmt. program will work in Safe Mode (or USB for that matter) but you can give that a try. If you have the music stored somewhere else try resetting it.

wow.... sounds like you're f*&ked to me.

Maybe post this in the main forum? Most of us don't use PCs that often, and have lost our technical skills with them.

It finally just showed up. I left it plugged in for a while and it just popped up and itunes asked me to name it. There definately is something wrong though because it's taking FOREVER to transfer like one song. I know it's not because of the USB 2 bercause I've used that before. I'm going to the apple store tonight.

Lol, I know. Well... It is kind of a good thing because it means there's nothing wrong with my computer and I'm not a tard for not getting it to work.

Ugh, I just got the new one today and it still doesn't work. My other ipod works fine, I don't understand what's wrong.

Sounds like an issue with Windows. Buy a Mac.

You make it sound so easy... I think I will return the ipod and just save the money and buy a refurbished mac mini next week. Windows is really awful though.

I converted the video using quicktime but it's saying my ipod can't it. What gives?

and, make sure its the right size. When ur converting it in quicktime, you have to make sure that u select to make it the iPod settings, the iPod wont auto fix things (so i've heard) so its always gotta be right. Its like 320x320 pixels, right? Something like that.

Return ur iPod? Any chance u'd want to trade it for a psp with some games, i can add a bit of cash, and i've got all orignal packing, some extras (and pics, and creds)

Well quicktime has automatic settings especially for the ipod but I'll try tinkering around with it. Nope I love the thing and I sold my PSP for money towards buying it. PSP isn't portable enough for me. I loved playing burnout on it though. Damn $8 game rental

He got me to plug it into a usb 1 port and all of a sudden it worked fine. It's kinda slow but I don't mind because I've gotten all the songs over and from now it will be minor updates.
