I just changed ISPs from Time Warner Cable to AT&T Uverse. I am getting 2.849MBPS down/947.79kB up (just tested it).

Most sites run just fine, as fast as they should. Certain sites (Facebook, Myspace, Google) run realllly slow, and only load about 1/2 the images that they are supposed to. What gives?

incorrect mtu settings or just ISP trouble. MTU thing is the last thing you think of but ran into this a while back where the modem was doing 1495 but the system was set to 1500 so some of the sites would never load right

Changed my MTU from 1500 to 1492, seems to have fixed it :)

    EDIT: Fuck, no it didn't.

go into your command prompt and type

    ipconfig /release

    then

    ipconfig /flushdns

    then

    ipconfig /renew

probably dns corruption.. Also delete your browser temp files.

    this

I'd disable the DNS Client all together....and run a custom hosts file

    see http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

You could also consider using opendns instead of your ISPs
