I was under the impression that changing the MAC address via. NIC properties or system registry wasn't permanent. Guess I was wrong...stupid me. :mamoru:

most routers let you "clone" or change a mac address for the WAN interface. If you're not using a router, you should be, anyway.

I think the best revenge would be to report their IPs to their ISP and attack server logs showing the DOS attack in progress.

I think that this person is on a consumer cable line, and shouldn't be runing a webserver, at all... So sending the logs to the ISP is probably not going to help him much :mamoru:

And I don't even want to address this "secondary ip" non-sense... I assume you mean the private, non-routable IP on the router's LAN interface... But you obviously have no clue what that does if you think you could somehow "use" it to accomplish what you've stated here.... So I will refrain from making you cry like a little school girl, and just trust me when I say, "no, that doesn't work".

Um, read your AUP and ToS and you'll likely find that your ISP doesn't agree with you.
