For those running adult sites; be it shock sites, porn sites, etc.. have you had any issues with people complaining about a lack of warning to underage children? I have some random guy, probably a father, requesting I take down a few of my sites. (not going to happen) - but I probably should put up a warning. What say you?

One site in question is (NWS) www.pornoh.org (NWS) and another is (NWS HIJACKER) SourtMath.com (NWS HIJACKER) that bounces around and is impossible to close without ending the task of your browser.

Adding the warning to SourMath would effectively ruin the site, since the whole purpose is for it to bounce around on you. How could I remedy this? Make the warning launch a new window? Maybe make the new window launch after X amount of seconds?

PornOH, I can understand doing.. and probably will end up doing it to that. But with a domain name like PORNOH is it really necessary?

Just trying to cover my ass. Let me know your thoughts.

That site is in the UK, oddly enough. But for PornOH all the content is hosted elsewhere. (scraped from other sites like RedTube, etc)

How does Meatspin/Lemonparty get away with it?

I just fear for my traffic. People send others to it because once they click, there is no going back. If they have a chance to read what they're about to see, they might not go. :dunno:

I think it would still kill traffic :hsd: On the bright side, I could finally put ads on it...

Might have to get a cheap offshore host for my hijacker sites.

    Anyone currently have one to help host my sites? :naughty;

IIRC if the website is misleading its a felony (has a law linking directly to this).

I dont think its required to have the age verification anymore on adult websites though. Might need to double check that

i have not kept up on the laws, since i have not done a porn site in years, but alot of the sites people i know, still have their warning pages up and to me it was a good rule of practice to include one

It's an NWS page, and it bounces around. You cannot close it - it "hijacks" your browser. You have to end task it, unless you're running admuncher, or like software.

pornhub, redtube, and many other big tubes dont utilize a splash page. i think they just mention something at the footer saying the page is intended for adult audiences

dunno if thats enough though :dunno:

you don't technically need anything unless your site's hosted in a place with retarded obscenity laws(think Kansas, Missouri.. )

If you just put something on there in legible text stating "This site is intended for people aged 18 and over", you'd be fine. Footer, header, wherever.. as long as it's legible and readily viewable.

But you don't really need that either.

Put the text up. If it's a father who's pissed and he's threatened legal action, do it just to cover your ass.

Any good lawyer can argue it either way as is right now.. but if you have something up, your lawyer would win. :o

All a warning does is make the user agree to not holding you liable for viewing something that may offend them.. It's essentially a contract - not done because of "laws", so to speak.. but because of how our legal system is set up.

Nah, this shit bounces the browser around. There is no way to stop it without ending the browser task.

maybe make a splash page for the sourtmath that looks like some crazy adult site with a warning, and when you click it the hijack happens... Like chicks with tails or something.

    very nice.

can you tell me how you made the splash page? im not talking about the design, i want the functionality where users dont have to hit yes each time...seems like yours does that

or hook me up with the script or whatever you used cause i'm no coder :x:
