Since staring CEE, I have been experiencing some pretty bad lower back pain. I don't know if this is lifting related, or swelling of the kidneys.

I read that CEE can be harmful to your kidneys (more so than monohydrate), regardless of the amount of water you drink. I then decided to research it more, and it seems to be a common discussion.

I'm just looking to gather some opinions on the matter...what do you guys know/think about it?

drink enough water and the creatinine (byproduct of creatine) will be flushed out of your kidneys

Honestly bro if you've got somehting that could be a kidney problem, dont be a lazy moron, stop by the docs office and get a urine test, 15 minutes is the cost of freeing your mind.

How much CEE are you taking? What's your current water intake?

I had a friend develop renal failure after being a retard and supplementing 10-20grams of Monohydrate daily over a 6 month period.

If you are supplementing creatine and go in for a test you will more than likely be off the charts on your creatinine measurements.

Creatine and high protein diet don't cause kidney problem, they tend to accelerate their development in people who already have one or have a genetic predispotion.

Never said anything about a higher protein diet. Although the doctor directly related the renal issuse to the creatine usage, I'm sure it could have in some way accelerated an existing issure.

Well, go on PubMed and show the doctor any article about creatine monohydrate usage and safety. I never saw one which said it was dangerous.
And I talked about high protein diet because some people think it causes kidney diseases too.

Hmm...it better not be my kidneys. I have been noticing a fair amount of back pain lately, but I just figured it was from DL's and squats; since I have only been doing them for a month.

On a side note; How many grams are in a teaspoons of CEE? Around 2?

    Hmm....well what the hell.

    Mine says that 1/4tsp = 480mg. So 480 x 4(to = a tsp) = 1920mg = 1.92g

I think before I was taking too much because I was doing 2tsp on off days and 2tsp before and after on workout days. But who knows how much I am taking in actual measurements since it's either 2g or 5g. Maybe I'll just keep taking the tsp and disregard the grams.
    :dunno:
