I just picked up his book, "The New Rules of Lifting," and it has a lot of great stuff.. 17$ on amazon.

totally revamping my routine (you can see it in my log, page 8).. he doesnt bullshit around with a lot of unncecessary garbage.. a few lifts at a good pace with opposite/complimentary (not isolation) lifts and you're in and out of the gym in 35 minutes.

does anybody here know, own, or have read, his afterburn book? know if it's good for cutting? or just targeted at REALLY overweight people. I'm only at like 10-14% BF and need to get super cut and I'm looking for new ideas

It would seem like it. He seems to put a lot of thought behind his routine in terms of caloric expenditure, but still keeping your heart rate under 60% or so... or that's what I've gathered thus far. That's actually why I'm really interested because I wanna know HOW he gets those numbers to keep yourself at that state.

Where did you get the heart rate thing from?

well it's actually my personal heart rate doing his 'your body is a barbell' article. After I read it I wanted to see where I stood doing his test. Took me about 45 minutes to do upper and lower and my heart rate was pretty slow the whole time, but I still had CRAZY muscle burn. The only one I couldn't really finish was the pullup. Instead of 5 for each arm then rest, I had to do 5 rest 5 rest then went on.

I guess I assumed that was what he was trying to get at with the 30 second resting inbetween and since you're body targets fat for energy when you're excersizing under 60% MHR I just assumed... I won't really know his real logic till I get the 'new rules of lifting' book.
