    Basically same as GSM but

Upgraded 1.3 MP camera w/vid capture
    EV-DO
Bluetooth (crippled for VZW no doubt)
    slightly revised keypad
    Dark gunmetal grey color

Since Verizon is lacking in phones (their lineup consists almost entirely of LG's and Samsung's now), I'm picking this up....should be out in a couple weeks.

Where did you hear the release date? Current word from Moto is January.

Unless they got wind of the really big Sprint news..... then they would have to move it forward.

January release? Ugh I heard rumors of sometime around the holidays. I really hope it comes out soon since I really want to get a new phone but everything else verizon has at the moment is busted.

It's not VZW; Sprint is under agreement to carry it first as far as I know, which makes sense, since they now make 1/2 their lineup. There's no way Sprint would let Moto give this to another carrier first.

No way Moto would allow Sprint to carry their extra-special phone first without bring out their guns either.

So far, all my local VZW places have them telling that in the next few weeks it'll be here. January was first date..but they want them out before the holidays. At least VZW does. And that's fine with me, as long as the phone isn't buggy (V710).

Um, here's something else that puts a hole into this: Moto does not have a EV-DO chipset developed.

wouldn't they just get it from an external company such as qualcomm?

I still think that its going to verizon first :dunno:

Larger company + stronger EVDO network that is actually advertised, and moto/vzw have a good relationship

Which was developed by Quallcom. Moto does not work with them anymore.

They've said they are going to develop their own system from now on. I wish they would have a EV-DO system in the phone, it's gonna need it to compete with the Blade, so yea I hope I'm wrong.

And keep in mind that 1/2 their handset sales (and most profitable) were from Nextel. Sprint's EV-DO starts advertising for the consumer on the 27th. Along with something else that's really cool.

I hope its not something stupid that nobody will really want :o

I'm guessing it'll be more of a network thing than anything else. Anyhoo, I thought the samsung blade was going to sprint and vzw was getting the razr, i guess we'll just ahve to wait and see. I don't think I'd get either - the only phone i'd get from sprint/nextel is the 6700 :o

I'm gonna have to coincide on this, I read internally that the Razr won't be in Sprint's bag. Maybe Samsung/Moto gave them a choice, The Blade or the Razr, and Sprint chose the Blade.

I think you meant concede on the issue :mamoru:

And its ALWAYS been rumored that the razr was going to vzw, the blade to sprint. I'm hoping that the blade isn't as ugly IRL as it is in those proto pics :hsugh:

I just hope the 2 yr price on the VZW RAZR isn't outrageous.

And so PDAs and Cell phones converge even more. Cell phones just keep getting longer. Looks nice though with that huge screen.

it'll run at least 300 if not 400, cdma phones are too expensive. thats a big reason why i left sprint for tmobile. got a razr for free too

ooooooooooo Hopefully verizon keeps the price on the Razr reasonable (Cingular prices would be smart... considering the number of people I know who picked up cingular just for the damn razr).
