cd stuck behind drive tray

    Somehow i've got a disc stuck behind the tray of the drive. the drive won't shut, and i have no idea on how to get the disc out.

    any help???

    pull the drive out and open the sucker up. You'll void the warranty, but drives are so cheap nowadays.

    there should be a tiny hole on the front. It should be just as big as a paper clip is around. Unbend the paper clip and push it into the hole. It should go in about an inch. It should get harder to push in, as you push a little bit harder, the drive drawer should start to slide out.

    the drawer is open with the cd ratteling around loose behind it

    Wow. That takes skill, right there.

    You're going to have to take the top of the drive off. A jeweler's screwdriver will come in handy for removing the tiny screws.
