Well I have a TDK veloCD 8/4/32. I got it about 2.5 years ago. I haven't used it all that much, maybe about 60cd's. Well, I just reformated and the drive isn't working. I called TDK and the service guy said that the drive may be "dead" and the lazer burnt out. Window's doesnt recognize the drive. If I open the drive in My Computer, I get a blank window of drive E:. The drive is master and all like that. It's worked fine before. Just not now. Nero gives me an error that says "Invalid field in parameter" and Nero stops. It gets to 2%, but the disk is blank. After I get this error my drive won't open unless I restart. I have the latest firmware and Nero updates.

Have you tried cleaning it a bit.. Sounds werid that you re-formated and then now it doesn't work..

CDRW are pretty cheap though now, so you could pick one up for like $50 or so.

What would be the best way to go about cleaning it? I was thinking about taking my case apart and cleaning it out some. I'll get one of those spray cans and shoot the drive off.
