How often do you have to interact with your gun when you carry? I don't mean how often do you have to draw on someone :hsugh:, but how often during a typical day do you have to unholster/mess with etc your weapon?

Just about every day I have to go to my business's PO Box which is in a post office. This means somewhere between my last stop and the post office (I have to drive to the post office) I have to unholster, slip my glock under the seat, go inside and pick up my mail, then come back and reholster as I drive away. Also, I'll often leave my glock on the (private) bathroom counter if I'm in there for an extended period of time ;)

Do you completely take the holster off or just take the gun out? I can't see it being a big deal unholstering the weapon a few times a day.

I'd just keep wearing it. As long as it's properly concealed, no one will ever know.

Only time I take the gun out is when I get to work because we can't have guns on property :ugh:. It stays in the car. :mamoru:

Otherwise, I never take it off unless I'm going somewhere where they're doing pat-downs or there are metal detectors. I carry in the PO, carry @ the casino, etc. Of course I don't go to clubs or anything so it's normally not an issue.

I don't remove my weapon unless I'm going somewhere I'll be frisked or that has a metal detector.

oh and as to the original question - i also "interact" with my shirt when i'm carrying when i get out of my car (just because the car is small/low/sporty so the grip usually catches on the shirt - just a quick pulldown otherwise it'll take 15-30 seconds before my shirt covers the gun...just came back from the grocery store and i also have to do this on bottom shelves sometimes (i just don't like people to know i'm carrying so i usually check after getting out of the car or having to grab something from the ground/low down

Yah; quick shirt pulldown when getting out of cars and bending over. That's about it. Being in the military I don't put my gun on when going to work. :dunno:

    Take my gun off for

    -metal detectors
    -some pat downs
    -bed time
    -sexy time
    -shits
    -showers

Other then that, concealed means concealed, shut your trap and carry your gun :)

Where they apply to the list. I still carry in the PO, but obviously no court houses, etc.

I usually just unholster and leave the holster on me. However, after thinking about it and reading the responses I figured fuck it and carried into the PO today. It's just too much work to leave it in the car. Not to mention you can find some questionable looking people on the walk from my parking spot to the PO itself.

Other than that, I just double check my shirt often (probably more often than I need).

I'm guessing you just started carrying?

You'll get used to not worrying if people see it, because if you dress right, no one will.

When I first started carrying I was always paranoid someone "knew" I had a gun, or finger fucking my shirt trying to keep it from magically coming up, because I didn't want anyone to see it. Now the only time I mess with my shirt is when getting up from sitting, I find that sometimes couches grab polo shirts and the gun handle slips out. So as I'm getting up I'll check my shirt, but that's it mostly. Don't bend over, bend your knees (it's better for your back anyway) and you'll be fine, no one will see your shit. Honestly 90% of people, even ones that know about CCW permits don't think about people carrying. It's not in their life, they don't think about it. Even if they see a bulge they'll either not give it a second glance or assume it's a insulin pump or multi tool more than likely.

I have to believe any REASONABLE LEO would not press you for carrying in teh Post Office. Sure it is written in the law but so is the speed limit. Do you drive the speed limit 100% of the time? If its well concealed I just don't think you will have an issue. At worst if a LEO saw it he may ask to see your permit and "warn" you about the Federal building.

Probably already stated above but I didn't read every post. Just my $.02
