was coming home from the bar and stopped for some post bar food at sheetz. 5 cop cars were there. Apparently 2 girls and 2 guys were fighting and stuff and were drunk and all that beating on eachother.

If you were there would you try to intervene and break it up and if they got hostile towards you and started fighting you what would you do?

Or would you stand by and watch it happen and not get involved unless it got really bad?

remember in this situation you have your weapon on you.

On a side note was at the bar and this fight broke out cause this guy taped another guys pool cue while he was playing a game, got all pissed and got kicked out. I went over to the pool table and stood there while the guys were there face to face until my buddy drew came over to bounce him since he is the bouncer. Fun night let me tell you.

This is like asking if I would put silverware in the electrical outlet. I can't think of a single good reason to put myself in the middle of drunk people who want to beat the crap out of each other. That should be enough but the police are already there too. Drunk people are often trouble, let them have have it, they're adults and you're not the police.

    .

There is no reason to get involved unless someone's life is in immediate, life threatening danger and there is no other option. Having a CCL does not make you a cowboy/vigilante.

allow me to add if i saw someone pull a knife/gun etc i would probably evaluate the situation a bit differently. i wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that someone died and i could have prevented it...

If the cops were already there, let them handle it. If the cops weren't already there . . . I would keep an eye on the situation. As bad as it sound I would not intervene to stop it, unless the fight elevated to the point where someone's life was in danger. Simply put with a bunch of drunks who are less than logical I do not want to do anything to escalate the situation. More importantly involved greatly and more than likely in getting in physical contact increases the chances of you gun being exposed. If that where to happen everything would escalate very quickly and you are way to close to readily and easily draw your gun if you need it.

I'd order a tasty burger on pretzel buns with mac and cheese and a wild cherry Pepsi and sit and watch.

It would be rather stupid to intervine let alone draw in a situation like that.

Same deal in FL, but I just kind of assumed that in the scenario I left the bar, got in my car, retrieved my gun in the car and then drove to the area of town where the burger joint is. Thus staying legal and still working in the scenario, plus its what I actually would do.

    Say what again motherfucka

I'd never get involved. Even if one was beating the other one with a baseball bat I'd just watch. The law it too fucked in this country and with my luck i'd get in trouble for hurting a guys shoulder while pulling him off the guy he was beating to death.

I've seen plenty of bar fights, one guy got thrown through a shop glass window just like on the movies. Everyone is looking at me to brake it up since I'm fairly big and the bouncers were all sub 6' 200lbs. I just said the dumb ass bar should have hired some bigger stronger guys and left.

I'd do the Bugs Bunny/Yosimite Sam thing and shoot a church bell 500 yards away and have the bullet ricochet off the bell through a tree back and forth between two buildings until it exited an alley and caught the biggest dude right in the ass.

Having a CCW does not mean you can police people. If you are in immediate danger, then you could intervene. Plus you said you were at a bar, is it a good idea to carry something which can kill people, after you have had a few?

So change the scenario a bit
    • No cops
    • In burger joint, not a bar
    • You've been drinking but not drunk
    • Guy is kicking the shit out of some woman and she's getting really bloody
    • She is calling for help
    • You're gun is on you
Do you come to her aid and get involved?
