I'm gonna call the Sheriff's office tomarrow to confirm, but....

I got my CCW today, and while I looked it over at the office, I didn't notice a misspelling of my name.

While looking over it again though, after I got back from the range, I noticed they have my last name ending in 'ter' instead of 'ler' (ie: Kimter, instead of Kimler [not my last name, made up for the point of explanation])

all the other info is correct, and it has my picture and address on it...

Should I go in and get a new ID? Do I need to go back and get a new ID?

I don't want to have to pay $20 to have it reissued though and go through the hassel of driving downtown to the sheriffs office and fighting for a bloated price parking spot .

Too bad I didn't notice it immediatly when it was issued

I wouldn't worry about it. Just pretend you never noticed the error.

never know when you will encounter an anti-ccw leo who is looking for a reason to take another ccw off the street.

get it reissued. $20 and a parking fee is a small price to pay to avoid the headache you might get for carrying a CCW that is not 100% correct.

    agreed.

If, god forbid, you actually had to use your weapon in defense, it would make your case that much more difficult to prove that you acted in defense.

I called the sheriffs office the day after I posted this, yesterday. They are mailing me a new, corrected copy, free of charge.

I got a ticket once for speeding and went to court. I asked the Judge if it mattered that the cop had misspelled my name when filling out the ticket ... He said it didn't and made me pay it.

Of course, it never works the opposite way.
