If I was in a state where the law allowed me to carry, but the school didn't I would absolutely still carry. Concealed means concealed
its just administrative sanctions. i would carry in VA. if you end up shooting someone and it is justified, you COULD be kicked out, but chances are that they wouldnt try.
fucking DOT. I dont give a shit what my school administration says. Unforunately, carrying on campus is prohibited under state law here
Not only that, but if it did come down to having to shoot someone I would rather be expelled than dead. Call me crazy
I'm sure if you got expelled for it that one of the other colleges that allows CC would gladly accept you, if for no other reason that good publicity.
Still at step one
expelled > dead
CA > FL in this respect.
UC campus rules against guns are void if you have a CCL. hell, you dont even have to tell the campus police (albeit it would be a good idea).
I'm not so sure there are campuses that allow CC...
It's forbidden by Texas law, so I don't think it would matter if a school in Texas said it was ok.
Florida is the same way when it comes to laws, but not VA.
VA legally allows CC on school campuses and my understanding is the VT is the only school in the state who's policy prohibits it under threat of expulsion.
Huh... I did not know that.
That's pretty freakin' crazy, actually...
IMO those signs are tacky.
Who knows if a permit holder would have been able to curb the violence. What we do know is that if they were allowed to carry on campus the people who were slaughted COULD HAVE had a chance to defend themselves.
Who cares if you get kicked out? You still have your life! Continue your education somewhere else.
Well, if they just randomly catch you you'd get kicked out. The likelyhood that you'd actually need to defend yourself in a classroom is pretty weak.
why is it crazy?
Definitely... I was answering specifically to the situation that you DID need to defend yourself and ended up getting kicked out.
But yeah... conceal that bitch good, that's all I've got to say about that.
Its funny to see you change to a VT AV after the fact
in my state, if you carry concealed on any college campus, even with a concealed carry permit, its a felony. there's several places where you can't carry concealed even with the permit. court houses, jails, meetings of government bodies, schools/colleges, churches, bars, the bar section of restraunts, etc
what if I'm strolling through the bar area of a restraunt to take a piss and have to stop a bar brawl/robbery/violent crime?
YOU don't use the gun to stop a bar brawl. What you should do is either throw down or call 911 and be a witness to the situation. You only use deadly force when there is means, opportunity, and great bodily threat to yourself. If you know of a situation where someone is on the verge of being killed than it's a different story (like finding 3 dudes raping some woman and beating her to death).
