Do any of you carry while jogging? If so what rig do you use? I'm not currently set on carrying while jogging, but it seemed like something that might not be a bad idea to look into. The only thing I have seen so far that looks like it might be something worth looking at is

    http://www.511tactical.com/index.asp?dlrID=511&dept=3&number=40021

    any other ideas or recommendation?

    BTW the gun in question is a 2 1/8 S&W J-frame.

That shirt is actually pretty cool, IMO.

Probably not the gun I would choose though... :dunno:

I don't jog, but I've heard good results with fanny packs, belly bands, and smart carries.

I'm going to start riding my bike again once it cools off and I think I'm gonna get a smart carry for that.

Rocked the S9A1 in a belly band the other day.. little bulky, so I swapped it for the P3AT and a spare mag in the band yesterday and today.

Only thing I worry about is the shirt sliding up when I'm doing incline pushups in the middle of the run.

    Edit: I REALLY don't think a Smartcarry's gonna be comfortable on a bike :o

Kind of what I'm worried about. Maybe I'll just put the gun in my bike bag in the holster. Even though it's not all that easy to get at. Another option is picking up a camelbak with the holster in it.

I'll be carrying my G19 since it's my only pistol.

I ran (shutup! I ran for a while ) with a pocket rig and ... yeah, that doesn't work. I think a belly band would probably be the best. Or that shirt holster thing.

Just run with a can of pepper spray in your hand. If you need it, spray, then practice your sprinting.

It's more for the two legged predators, like perhaps the pigmented young gentleman in khakis and a white collared shirt I observed low crawling through a rose garden this afternoon in broad daylight, some 40 yards from kids...

That's what I meant. I don't think anyone is going to be messing with the op while he's jogging, he isn't a small guy. Plus it isn't the best target, who carries money on them while running?

Might want to think about running on the track on campus.

Chris it was only a thought that had crossed my mind, I really don't need too, however as Aequitas mentioned mace might not be a bad compromise. On the plus side I bet you get in less trouble for macing someone free roaming pissed off doberman than shooting them . . . plus you can take mace on campus unlike a gun.

As they say "when you have a hammer everything starts to look like nail." I went straight to a gun as a defensive measure, but mace severs a good weight compromise as well as functionality.

I don't carry less lethal devices. Anything short of deadly force, my mouth, my feet or my head will get me out of. When you DON'T have a hammer, that nail isn't going anygoddamnwhere.
