Any one carry on a bike? I may be buying a bike for daily commuting, and I normally carry on my 4:00 but leaning forward on a bike would expose this alot I think...

sooo...if you carry on a bike, where at?

what kind of bike? if its a harley or something of the like, u can put it in the saddle bag.. if it's a crotch rocket, there's typically a little 'trunk' by the gas tank

    it's a POS ninja 500.

I'd like it to be on my body...at first I was thinking getting a 6:00 IWB, but i'm afraid of a shirt or jacket blowing up and showing it, maybe a sholder harness for under a jacket?

Trunk on a sport bike? If so it's not usually weather proof. Myself, I've mainly been pocket carrying lately. I also have a shoulder rig sewn into the liner of my winter jacket. it holds my Mak nicely and I can take the jacket on and off without anyone noticing.

I've tried IWB but it can get exposed there, depending on your riding gear and type of gun theres always pocket carry, my .357 fits in my jacket pocket pretty easily but I dont know if I'de want to land on it :noes: I've also carried in my tank bag which is probably the best solution wont hurt yourself with it if you do go down and it can still be accessed pretty quickley, final option as mentioned under the passenger seat but you wont be able to get to it if you need it..

there's usually a spot under the seat or in front/on top of the tank

I always thought about sewing a holster under a tank bra. Then I got a Jeep instead. :o

Jeeps are fun but just not as much fun. I painted over the clear map pocket on my tankbag to carry it in there, gives me pretty quick access, with gloves and shit on I think I can get to it quicker there then IWB or inside my jacket.

Well, I can't really wheel in a 600 pound one wheel drive, so fun is subjective.

i got a ninja 500 recently and have also been confronting this problem, shoulder holster under the jacket works ok but i'm probably going to buy a tank bag and see if that works out better, my shoulder holster would force me to use my throttle/front brake hand to draw and i'd rather use my left hand and give up clutch control if i ever have to shoot while riding. i can't imagine a time when i'd have to shoot somebody while i'm actually riding but i'm sure its possible that this problem could arise.

The only comfortable way I carried my G22 on my R6 was on the side with a Galco Fletch or Cop 3 Slot. I tried behind the back and shoulder rigs and on a sportbike the most comfortable was a side holster. The Galco leather ones stayed in close to your body and my Joe Rocket jacket always kept it covered. I like the Fletch and Cop 3 Slot because it coveres the whole slide, in case I went down the gun had some good protection.

while i dont own a bike. ID imagine that if you were to go down, it would be very bad to land on a solid piece of metal with a few protrusions. I would think the tank bag would be the smartest solution.

if I was wearing my one piece I dont think I'de want to wear a shoulder rig under that, if it fits right its already going to be tight and even though I dont own an XD I dont really want to get sweat all over my gun and I dont know how comfortable a shoudler rig would be over a wife beater.. if its hot out i dont wear much beneath my leathers :o

I honestly can't think of a time I'd ever need to draw while riding. Especially when you figure even the crappiest bike is still faster than most any other cars. Ride away....fast.....

Before I put the alarm & GPS unit in the tail storage of my R6, my Glock would fit in there, but it wasn't readily accessible.

Now it goes in the tank bag.
