Situation: No connectivity from main building to garage (distance: 450ft)

    Equipment: CAT5/Converter Box/Fiber/Converter Box/CAT5

The connection from the first CAT5 is fine, I can receive an IP address and talk to the network. I go to the garage and get no connectivity whatsoever. My first guess was that the fiber might be messed up, but I was told there was connectivity before until someone messed around with the switch.

So, now there is connection on the port, but still get signal at the garage.

I'm this close to running CAT5 down with a repeater in the middle.:ugh2:

    Any ideas would be great.

Well, I found the problem. Turns out there was another fiber bridge in the ceiling and the TX/RX were switched around. Sigh.
