Looking to expand my casual long-sleeved button ups.
Any recommendations besides H&M or Express?

I dont see the appeal of BoO/FH/etc and
JCrew/Banana/Gap I find are usually way too wide in the body.

    suggestions?

Take a gander at Martin + Osa if you have one locally, I've found great slim fits from them, most of the patterns are pretty generic but still good quality and fit.

jcrew fits ok. much better than it used to be, and some shirts fit slimmer than others.

I've checked pretty much every single button-down.. and for the price/fit, JCrew smalls usually do it for me.

I wouldn't call jcrew slim. It fits me fine, probably a little on the tight side in the chest (no pulling at buttons or anything), but I prefer that so haveing it be billowy in the waist.
