cassette tape to .mp3 or.wav

    Can I convert a cassette tape to mp3 or wav?? And If so how do I go about doing this??

    hook the tape player up to your line in on your sound card. capture it as a wave. then convert wave -> mp3 using your favorite encoding program.

    This also works well for transferring your LPs to your computer as well (don't forget to hook up the receiver for amplification if you need to).

    To transfer vinyl correctly you need a phono pre-amp somewhere in the chain that has the proper RIAA equalization curve or it'll sound like complete shit.
