So i'm running out, and thinking about purchasing a 4lb ON tub from fitrx for $37.95. Is that the going price these days for casein?

can anyone attest to what flavors i should get? there's banana creme, chocolate, and vanila. i'll be using water for it.

If you want a cheaper route you can order milk protein isolate from allthewhey.com or trueprotein.com

    5lb tub at allthewhey.com costs $41

casein 4lb costs 37... it's somewhat cheaper, but that's not a huge difference.

Yeah, but it has both fast a slow protein to promote a full blast anabolic anti-catabolic environment, bro.

which one does? I know the milk protein is probably whey + casein + any other kind that's in there so would the assortment be better overall?

:dunno: I just eat cottage cheese (right before bed ftmfw, I just finished my cup)

Cottage cheese (and any cheese except for ricotta) is just casein. MPI contains both casein and whey so it has the best of both world. Milk, yogurt, they contain both and work well too.
Many fear the milk (insert Thib's comment about milk) mainly because ''it's insulinogenic!!!11one'' so they take whey. Well milk has a high GI but the sugar in it (lactose) has a low GI... so yeah, the high GI is caused by the protein portion. Plus, calcium and dairy intake have been associated with fat loss.

You could even add powdered milk in water or in milk to get something even more dense, as long as you're not lactose intolerant which is probably a benefit of protein powders but then again, yogurt doesn't contain much lactose.

The ON 100% Gold Standard Casein is good stuff....the vanilla and chocolate both taste pretty good.

so no one recommends the banana creme? was kind of interested, but i wouldn't want to be stuck with it for a year.

i guess i'll go the safe route with chocolate.

seeing as 5lb on whey go for about ~$35, i don't mind a 4lb casein for $37 at all. i think there's free shipping too on the sticky for fitrx

well i had 3x1.25lb ones that lasted me about 2 months each. it was part of that amazon.com deal a few months ago, the one where it was like 20 bucks off 60 for certain brands. the casein i got was twinlabs.

i only use 1 scoop before bed, and i sometimes don't use it everyday.

i just purchased from fitrx. i never realized there's no tax where i live for that site, so 4lbs ON casein came out to 37.95 flat.

i mix it about 1.5 to 1 on all of my shakes (unless i'm using my Metabolic Drive protein powder)....and take casein by itself (with some aminos) before bed.

well i want to drink as little water as possible, since it's right before i go to bed. i quickly blend a scoop of casein in 8oz water. comes out just fine - not too thick unless i accidentally blend for a longer time. adding whey would make me blend longer.

well i've been using muscle milk for pre workout. post i've been using just on whey and mono. i usually eat right when i get home, so is the casein really necessary? i'd prefer not to use powder when i can go solids.
