My job is on the line for whatever is decided tommorrow about CART

I know nobody here really cares about either series, but for me its pretty important because if Tony George gets the series, I could be out of a job :hs:

I already have a strong dislike for George, so I dont trust the series in his hands.

I really hope Gentilozzi, Forsythe (Owns Players), and Kalkhoven outbid him so that the next CART season can go on (and I have a job), but who knows.

Although if George does get it, and he adds the road courses to the IRL schedule (he will be required to fulfill the contracts CART has with the tracks), that wouldnt be so bad.

    I'm kinda nervous :o
Sorry, just had to vent my frustrations

As true as that is, it doesnt make for good business to have 2 series in an already thin market

What's going on? More info please. A year ago I would of been on top of all this shit, but I've been lacking. My company used to make engine control units for one of CART's manufacturers.

CART is bankrupt and its open to purchase...two groups are looking to buy it, the IRL, and OWRS which is Kevin Kalkhoven (PK Racing), Gerald Forsythe (Players-Forsythe racing), and Gentilozzi (Rocketsports Racing?)

    Tommorrow the bidding wars begin

Forsythe has said that Tony George will not be financially able to outbid OWRS, hopefully he is right :hs:

Take a look at the time differences between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers throughout IRLs season last year, and attempt to tell me that races that close aren't exciting and truthfully better racing than Cart ever had.

I hope OWRS wins this deal. Tony George has nearly ruined open wheel racing in America already. IRL is quite possibly the most boring racing I've ever tried to watch.

That's cause of the low tech, low revving egines keeping everyone on the same field of HP. It's like nascar. Give the engineers open rein to give teh cars some real power. Then you'll see who has balls and who should go homne to race sprint cars in indiana....

It's even worse. They can't even beat and bang each other like NASCAR.

Tony George is a whiny bitch that took his toy (Indy Motorspeedway) and went home.... The guys in the IRL followed (all but had to follow him) and the split managed to ruin open-wheel in the US. I hope anyone other than George gets it.

NASCAR is a lot more hightech than most people think. I just wish they would go a little further in development of some of the stuff, like engines and engine control. I also think the whole idea of everyone having the same body sucks. Hey, if you're with Chevy and their aero sucks, don't bitch to NASCAR, bitch to Chevy and have them change it. NASCAR shouldn't have to change anyone elses aero package cause yours sucks.

    From a Drivers standpoint, CART > F3000

When CART owners look at new drivers, F3000/Infiniti Pro Series is where the they look

Our budgets, horsepower, technology > F3000

    But its your opinion anyways

There were actually quite a few exciting photo finish races in CART, the problem last season was that most of the races were on Speed Channel instead of CBS, which was pretty much a waste.

Next season more races are supposed to be on CBS. Germany was awesome last year.
