Do any of you carry at work, even if it's against company policy? I work at a university :(

If so, how do you conceal it well enough that youre confident nobody will see? I wear a dress shirt tucked into khakis every day.

not only could you get fired, but you could lose your CHL and probably get in trouble legally.. at least around here.
My work has that big sign on the door..

The interesting thing about CT is that I've never seen any signs on doors, they probably think so few people carry. Regardless, the university does have a policy against it which I'll have to follow I guess.

Must be nice for the thugs around here to know that anyone that works here (largest employer in the city) is pretty much guaranteed to not have a weapon to defend themselves with.

It's a sure-way to get fired. My dad couldn't even park on his office property when he'd go shooting at lunch with his work buddies. They wouldn't even allow guns locked in a case in the trunk in the parking lot.

My work doesn't give a shit. Most of the universities in the state have policies against carrying but as far as the law is concerned it doesn't mean anything. No one's every challenged it.

There are two places that you can't legally carry in Colorado:

    1) in a public school. You have to keep the gun unloaded and locked in your car. That just means you have to lock the door. You don't need some bullshit lockbox or anything. Unloaded in Colorado = no round in the chamber so you can keep a full magazine in the gun. You just can't have one in the pipe.

    2) In a public building where every entrance to the area you're trying to access has metal detectors and security personell.

if you want to leave it loaded you have to have a ccw and leave it in a compartment

it is cool though you can carry concealed on university property.

i work at a state agency. its state law that you can't bring guns into the building unless you are a law enforcement officer. i don't have a pistol anyway, and i bet I'd look weird if I went into a building with the M1 Garand over my shoulder :mamoru:

Meh I'm relatlively comfortable with my skills and employability. I always figured I'd run the risk myself and if my employer wanted to fire me for that I'd go somewhere else. Its great to not be scared of being fired for many many reasons.

if its written in the state law that you cant carry a firearm on any school ground then they dont have to post a sign on the door. you're taking a huge risk

CARRY ACCORDING TO STATE AND LOCAL LAWS.

Blanket statements with regard to CCW annoy the hell out of me.

Because it is that way in YOUR state, does not mean it is that way IN EVERY OTHER state.

in Michigan if you carry at work against policy, you are fucked badly. so company policy carries the strength of state prosecution.
