You have to register to read the entire paper, but I have the pdf if someone has an uploader that will accept pdfs.

//edit : Thanks Crossett : http://traviscrossett.com/Investigating the Link Between Gun Possession and Gun Assault.pdf

Of course there is no discerning between legal gun owners, legally carrying, and criminals.

I'll post some good comments, but the cliffs are :this paper is bullshit - over half the sample size had prior arrests

“…analysed 677 shootings over two-and-a-half years to discover whether victims were carrying at the time,…”
“study found that people who carried guns were 4.5 times as likely to be shot and 4.2 times as likely to get killed compared with unarmed citizens.”

When Charles Branas is ready to step down from his ivy league bullshit and do a non-biased study on registered gun owners, concealed carry permit holders, and other breeds of educated and responsible gun toters, then he’ll be on to something. Or, not because his findings will be different than what he found bottom feeding through police reports and hospital records.

And a buddy of mine adds :

Of COURSE the average dude who ended up in a Philly hospital with a bullet in his ass also had a gun on him at the time. So did the other punk ass who capped him and didn’t end up in the hospital, lol.

This time of year I always have 4 guns and my bow in the truck.
I have 100% chance of getting shot.

I just checked the numbers, there are 18 million people in my state and 600,000 of them have a concealed weapon license. That's 1 in 30 :eek3: if you figure that 21% of the population is under 18, that's 14.2 million people left and only 1 in 23 of adults :eek3:
