Anyone have experience with carpet dye? Ive got an ugly carpet in my truck and was thinking of using a dye....maybe going from red to black. Ive heard that aerosol dyes are not that great.

I've had good experience getting some dye from Michaels or wherever you have a craft shop. Pour the dye in with the proper mix of water/salt and let it sit overnight or however long you'd like. I used a big kiddy pool and let it sit for a couple days. I died mine from tan to black... worked out pretty well.

    Thanks.

So, you ripped out your carpet and soaked it in the pool?

By pretty well, it wasnt perfect. What problems did you have?

I was hoping that I could put something like that into a spray bottle and just do it by hand and keep the carpet and seats in their place.

If you're gonna rip out the carpet - you might as well get a new one from jc whitney
