I do a full body workout 3 times a week..How would I go about working in 3-4 cardio sessions? Always on off days? Also should I have a shake before or after a cardio session? Thanks.

Maybe I should also mention that my goal is building muscle

:werd: you aren't going to stay lean if your true goal is building muscle. Muscle is going to come with fat unless you are using gear. Your best bet is building that muscle and bulking up for a long period of time then focusing on fat loss and cardio. Then again different things work for different people

You should do cardio even while bulking to stay in some kind of shape.

I'm not worried about gaining fat. I've just heard that it's always a good idea to do some fairly low intensity cardio like maybe incline walking..just for general health.

ah well, in that case, I think you should only do it on your days off from lifting for like 30 mins. thats all i'd do anyways :big grin:

Word on doing it for health. I do heavy cardio on my days off just because I have a high bf%, but my trainer told me to go ahead and do 15-20 min on my lift days too, as long as I consume a proper amount of calories immediatly after lifting.

just do 2x week on your days off at moderate intensity for 30 min if you are not concerned about weight gain.

When I was doing full body workouts 3x a week, I would do a 10-14min HIIT session on my off-days in the AM. I got pretty good results from it.

I stoped doing major cardio almost half a year ago, and I can still run a mile without going out of breath. I stoped because it was too diffictult to lift 2 times a day, do cardio, and try to eat enough to gain weight. I would say a clean diet is just as, if not more, important than cardio.
