i am trying to lose weight and get cut and gaining muscle. But i read that its pointless to do cardio and to lift weights at the same time? is this true? My routine is hi rep weight lifting (NOT heavy lifting)

a day after i work out

    Mon - bicepts - crunches - run a mile
    tues - Chest, , tricepts - 1 mile
    Wed - back, shoulers - crunches - 1 mile
    thurs - bicepts again - 1 mile

You probably won't put on muscle MASS but you obviously will be getting more tone, I guess. I cannot gain any muscle mass if I do cardio.

and you need to workout legs.

    Bench press
    Pull ups
    Squats

Thats all you need to do. Do the maximum amount you can do between 6-12 reps(unless doing some sort of bill starr routine). Cardio and weight lifting can be done together, no problem.

Do you have any idea how small biceps actually are compared to other groups? The bulk of what makes your arms look "big" are your triceps.

    Forgot deadlift and rows :hsd:

and +1 on the biceps. The only reason I started doing them is because they are limiting how much weight I can row :mamoru:

keep your reps between 8 and 12... and i don't think you need to do 5 sets

i'm doing a 5 set, 4-6 rep/set routine right now and it's working just fine... also, work your legs... running alone isn't going to do it

then cardio + diet are your friend. calories burned > calories consumed = weight lost

lift heavy, though, and don't forget about working your legs

lift heavy so you'll maintain some muscle mass... otherwise, you'll end up looking like a famine-baby

remember, though, Rome wasn't built in a day... consistency will get you results, but it still takes time

Yes, of course do cardio especially if you eating like you should be to make gains. And break your cardio down into time active not distance and focus on a target heart rate.

I personally view any day dedicated to biceps is a waste of a day... let alone 2 days
