On the same day but during different times of day, who does it?

Thinking about lifting in the mornings and running at night.

Running on the track at night is fun.

I do a combo of each.. sometimes run AM's, lift nights, visa versa, or both at the same time (i.e. lift, then cardio at night)

Cardio before lifting. Nothing like a good warm up for the muscles before lifting.

    That's what I always thought..

I will typically jump on the treadmill for 5 minutes to keep the blood flowing, then lift for however long, then do 30 min of cardio.. Exhausting, but works for me.

I guess, I just always did cardio before lifting. My squats didn't seem to be affected too much by it. I guess I'll try lifting before cardio one day.

extended cardio after you lift can negatively affect any gains you just made and start to break down muscle b/c of cortisol buildup.
But that is only if you're doing more than 45 minutes to an hour and have a high metabolism.

you're probably still fine but should still have a shake after lifting/before the hour of cardio
