picture is ok but the story is pissing me off

about half a second after I took this a hawk divebombed the front bird. I know everyone has an "If I was only _______ sooner/later....." story but that would have been cool!

    That's pretty cool.

A little too busy, but you did a nice job of keeping the details in the ice.

I've seen plenty of ice but this is strange...everything is frozen to about 1/4" thick.

How hard is it to start when it's that cold? Do the doors freeze shut?

My 7 year old couldn't open the door. I had to get in the driver's side and push it open.

Yes, it's not too good for the door gaskets. Usually I silicone them before before winter to help this from happening. But then again usually we've had snow before now to remind me to do it.

That was several yaers ago in Atlanta. It really wasn't that cold. The temp just teeters at the freezing point causing the falling rain to freeze when it hits.

It wasn't hard starting the car but it wasn't easy breaking off the 1/2" of ice off the windshield before I could drive.

The car is also in my side yard because my driveway was iced up. I barely got it far enough in the yard to get the rear of teh car out of the street.

Well, obviously it was cold but not extreme. Otherwise it would have been snow, not freezing rain. Temps were right around freezing point.

On my Miatas, they don't have a frame around the window so some moisture builds up on the rubber gasket where the window meets the top. Doors freeze shut :wtc: Some cars, the keyhole can get frozen, too. WD40 helps prevent that, though :bigthumb:

    keyless entry ftw

The doors on my truck were frozen shut the other day. Took a lot of wiggling to get the passenger door open and then I had to give the driver's door a good shove with my shoulder from the inside to get it open.

It's snowing right now! :eek5: Driving's a little sporty this morning. Hung the tail out around a few turns today. Accidentally. ;)

my antenna on my car is still frozen. :wtc:

I let my car idle with the defrost on fullblast for 30 minutes and the wipers and passenger side door was still frozen :greddy:
