Does the camera or your computer support USB2.0?

    Card Reader.

I put my CF card in the reader and start the upload process to my computer while I use another CF card in my camera to continue shooting.

Card reader or convertible card. I find myself using my Sandisk Ultra II SD plus card a lot in my 1D MK II since it's so convenient. Only 1gb but that's enough in some situations.

USB2.0 or Firewire card readers are much faster than camera connected and are much easier to manage.

card reader.. only because my computer refuses to recognise the camera.. all my old stuff is soughted ala-canon style.. so it would be a touch lazier of me to use it.. despite the time.

I prefer the card reader since I had a habit of leaving the camera on after the transfer.
