Heres the deal. My TA is parked for the winter and I dont want to leave my system in it. That would just be asking for it to be stolen. So sitting beside me is my JBL 600.1, 2 Alpine S-12's, and Pioneer AVH-6600DVD.

So here is my thinking. I have a few old computer PSU kicking around. Infact, the one in my computer right now can output +12v1 @ 16a, and +12v2 @ 15a.

So to me, what the means, is 1 wire set of 12v @16a and 2 wire sets of 12v @ 15a.

So basically I could harness an old PSU to supply 12v of dc power to the HU and the amp.

Or would this be a little too risky for my equipment? Personally, I think it would work :dunno:

You def wouldn't be able to run the amp but deck should work fine, I would think. Donno why you would want to do that:dunno: If you really want to use your subs then your best bet would be to get a Hometheater amp im guessing.

Your subs will sound like ass anyway, they are designed for a car, not an open space as you would find in your house.

Actually if you build a proper enclosure it'll sound just like a 'home audio' sub. I don't know why you would want to run your expensive head unit and car amps thru old power supplies, save yourself the hassle and get a cheap sub amp . . . www.partsexpress.com is one place that you can get stuff like that from. they even have DIY sub plans and what not.
