It was a 5-way between the 4x4 crew cabs. From all the pictures, it looked like they had a lot of fun in the sand dunes.

    The order is...

5th: Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab
    4th: Toyota Tundra Double Cab
3rd: Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab
    2nd: Ford F-150 Supercrew

And 1st? Nissan Titan SE Crew Cab

The Titan was 1st in towing, 2nd in interior, and was the fastest in every test(0-60, 1/4 mile, 50-70, top speed, etc). It had the most torque by a decent margin, tied for the best highway mpg and was base priced ~$6k less than the Silverado and F-150.

If Nissan gets some more factory capacity, they might have some decent selling numbers too. It would probably help if they had a factory for trucks and SUVs only.

This thread will probably go to 100pgs because of HisXLNC. :o

American buyers will never buy an import truck and treat it as a serious work truck.

Come on down here to Texas where so many are bought it'll make you puke. I can count well over 200 pickups on my way home from work, and I can count the number of Toyotas and Nissans on one hand. :hs:

In addition, most truck sales are corporate fleet sales, and while the half-ton might work great for individuals, it's lousy for fleet stuff (they usually go with 3/4 or 1 ton trucks). The imported guys will lose there too.

Not to say that they dont' have good stuff, but it'll be nigh impossible to eat up this market within a 2-3 year span. Hell, the Tundra has been around for how long now? :dunno:

Nissan has put out some really good car/trucks recently. The Titan looks to be a beast in the full-size truck department and I'm convinced if they gave the Armada half the push they've given the Titan it would take off as well. From what I've seen and heard that thing absolutely screams.

No I do not... As I said before, what i said was just from what I've seen and heard. I would never buy a truck because I would never have need for a truck but I felt like chiming in since I have interest in Nissan.

The 04s aren't all that great, especially compared to the Fords. :hs: unfortunately, I think Chevy missed it on the latest redesign- the front ends are fugly, the interiors are very functional, but not very pretty, and the performance isn't anything spectacular. :(

I'd LOVE to rock a new F150 though- the exterior is kinda "Meh", but those interiors are fucking nice. :o

I live in Katy, and make regular trips to Brookshire, Fulshear, and Sealy. Trust me, it does make me want to puke. :o

You're getting a little ahead of yourself. Nissan will never match the Detroit 3's numbers because they simply can't make that many trucks. The factory that produces the Titan also makes several other vehicles.
If Nissan expanded their capacity, they'd get more sales, and then they might run into the brand loyalty barrier. Either way, they won't get close to the Domestic 3's levels anytime soon.

The Tundra's weak. Strike two for Toyota.

I guess it isn't. Mechanically, I think the Silverado was the oldest truck of the five(started in '99). The Tundra might be around the same age. It's so insignificant, I can't remember when it came out. :o

I hate the Avalanche style headlights on the new Silverados.. They were perfect when they did the redesign a few years ago. I really like the interiors of Silverados. They really need to step it up with the new F150 and Titan out..

Something else to remember, bragging about towing and so forth and whatever. Most people never take their trucks to the limit. Sure they also stuff in the back and tow stuff, but very few use anywhere near it's maximum capacity. Hauling the kids around town in the back seat isn't that hard either.

Those who tow the really heavy shit and haul the really heavy shit go for the diesel trucks.

The problems with those tests is you're comparing the domestic's lowest end trucks against the imports hightest ones.

Sometimes I wish I had a truck... but it just ain't practical as a daily driver for non-construction work. I don't understand why people drive them on a daily basis :dunno:

Thats  you still use yours, even though its performance oriented.

Not exactly right. The imports only HAVE one offering. You have to compare the domestics entry level offerings because thats all the imports have.

Still going to be an uphill fight for them.

Ford is also working on sticking a diesel engine in the F-150, so we'll have to see about that.
