is there software that can take random frames or a certain point from an archive of video files? I have a bunch of .wmv's and I want to make thumbnails for each one. Is this possible? I tried XNView but it only did .mpg

Nero does it as part of its indexing process if that helps

well I'd like the captures to be about 400X400. I don't really wanna install Nero, does it work with .wmv?

Edit: Which Nero, version, DVD or Standard?
