I've been needing to improve my grip for awhile and I finally decided to order some CoC grippers, linked here

My question to you is, what have you guys started out on? I play sports and have been lifting for over 6 years, although not always consistent. So my grip shouldn't be girly weak.

The reason I ask is obvious, I don't want to buy a gripper and have it be way to easy and thus a waist of money.

I was thinking I should be fine with starting with No. 1. If it is too hard I'll just have to do other grip exercises until I can start using it.

Cliffs: What CoC gripper did you start with?

Did you find the trainer to be easy when you started out, or did it still take you awhile to 'master' it?

It's not as easy as the unlabeled generic ones you find at sporting goods stores but it may be a decent challenge for your non dominant hand. Needless to say, it depends on your strength.

:werd: improves crushing strength, not much carryover for exercises that require static holds.

    I'd get the Trainer, #1 and #2
I was able to close the #2 the first time I tried it. It depends on the person I guess.

I like them. As any tool, they have their place. I can't quite get the #3 with my right, although I can do the #2.5 for a couple reps.

I think plate pinches and hex DB holds have more of a carryover if you're having problems holding onto the bar.

well true. I'm not sure what the posters goal is but regardless doing plate pinching or blockweight holds will build overall grip strength.

I do static double overhand holds with a fat bar for as much as I can. Then once that gets too much I switch to a mixed grip. Got to 465 the other day on the fat bar for 5 seconds. Shit HURTS.

I have something similar to tyler grips and my grip has improved dramatically since using them. My goal is to be able to crush an apple :hsd:

I think the draven guy that posted has all kinds of videos where he does shit like bend nails with his hands. It's impressive in it's own niche way

I have tried chest crushing the #4 for a little while but it really is a different feeling all together than trying to do a crushdown on a piece of stainless or hex stock. I'm sure it might help a beginner though.
