I was kind of scared that the gun on his hip would be used as a decoration, but he whips it out to shoot some guys in the kneecaps

I get the feeling they are trying to bring out an Ultimate side of Cap :coold:

a more modern version of cap, you can tell brubaker doesn't want bucky shooting everyone in the face to honor steve's memory, but there HAS to be a time where he's conflicted and just blasts someone's noggin off...

and by someone i mean dr. fastus...fuck that guy

all this change kinda makes you wonder if they are doing away with the ultimate line.

i can see BMB and dan slott writing spiderman together, ultimate x-men is without a writer after kirman leaves for issue 93, UFF are about to get pwnd by ultimate thanos, and the ultimates have been reduced to whiney motherfuckers and boobies...

yeah, the ultimate line has definitely lost a lot of its appeal. the only book that's still intriguing is Ultimate Spidey.

Ultimate FF was awesome before the lastest artist, "President Thor" was a great storyline.

Ultimate X-men has been up and down, but I'm excited to find out more about Cable and Chuck, and now Sinister and Apocalypse. Ultimate version should be interesting.

Ultimate Extinction was awesome, Ultimate Vision was pretty good.

My favorite Ultimate Spidey moment was after the clone saga, the speech by Samuel L. Fury about being one of the greats instead of one of the bad guys.

don't forget ultimate stryfe and ultimate onslaught (which has GOT to be xavier)

and you didn't like the russian arc? the artist was mark brooks, and he's amazing! this wasn't as good as the first cable & deadpool arc he did, but it was still good.

UFF is great, but with millar taking over the 616 FF and shaking them up pretty big-like...it's another reason the ultimate line may go bye-bye.

they're modernizing the current 616 characters, instead of creating the whole new universe in the ultimate line. i'd be sad to see it go, but i really believe they're planning to nix all the books.

now if they kept them going in say...a volume format? that would be kickass.

This is the first Captain America I've read since the early 90's and I have to say, it was awesome! I think I need to go back and read from 25 on, or should I go back further?

just pick up the omnibus from amazon, it's got issues 1-25 and every single one of them do not dissappoint.

seriously, the downfall and death of captain america starts with issue 1. it's an entire story wrapped around seperate arcs.

the amount of plotting and planning and thought put into this is amazing.

:coolugh: I'm kind of wondering how the Secret Invasion will play out in Cap now. I would hate to see them wrap up the whole Red Skull/Faustus storyline early, or put it on the backburner, because I think it rocks.

it won't, the other creators are letting brubaker do his thing with bucky/cap. we won't be seeing cap in any other marvel books for awhile.

i meant like we're not going to see cap in New Avengers or Mighty Avengers, and he's damn sure not making a guest spot in Thor :mamoru:

That Invaders thing is in-continuity, but it's still a limited series...right?

Good choice. Glad to see somebody over there still has some idea what they're doing. I doubt it's Quesada.

quesada is doing a good job, i mean...yeah, it takes him 20 years to draw 22 pages, his idea for OMD was horrid, but him being able (or hiring the able people) to bring in talented writers like JMS, brubaker, millar, and bendis to turn the marvel universe upside down and give it a proper kicking, is amazing.

not to mention the artists, i just hope i can look back ten years from now and hold the art in the same reguard. i can't say the same thing 10 or 15 years ago when the art was messy and the writing was borderline moronic.

Well, I don't like JMS or Bendis, I only like some of the art, and I think his overall vision for the Marvel U. is essentially flawed ... so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

OMD/BND is wretched. I won't touch a Spider-man book w/ a ten foot pole and it used to be my favorite book throughout the 90's.
