I know this isn't gun specific but the people in here will actually care about this plus the Georgia crew are in here alot.

**Flag rally this weekend** Canton, GA homeowners association suing man over flagpole and flag.

Apparently Ron Tripodo paid $900.00 to have a flagpole and flag professionally installed in his yard and is now being sued by the homeowners association to have it removed. What’s funny is there was not one single complaint in the neighborhood about the flagpole or flag, but because he didn’t get permission to have it installed the homeowners is saying it is a violation of the covenant and he needs to remove it.

His neighbor, who is an attorney, has taken the case for no charge and the homeowners tried to settle this by “allowing” him to move the flagpole and flag to the backyard. He refused and from what I was told is currently paying $25.00 a day in fines via the homeowners. He claims he had the right to fly the flag in this manner under the Freedom to Display the Flag Act of 2005.

I am posting all this because there is a flag rally in his neighborhood (BridgeMill) in Canton, GA this Saturday at 11:30am and I wanted to see if anyone else wanted to come support his right to fly the flag. This is an official rally, the police will be there blocking the roads and directing people/traffic.

I was told about this by his neighbor (coach of the SCRA team The Nationals) today at baseball practice, he lives in the neighborhood with this guy and this guy is also the person who paid for his entire teams jerseys and had them custom made with the numbers in an American flag design.

I will be there, if you want to come out and support this it would be great.

Attached is the flyer about the rally and some articles on the actual dispute.

Anyone here a member of GCO with a spare small GCO shirt? I want to grab a GCO shirt before Saturday but I don't know if I can get one in time.

I just took the formatting off.

  5. The lesson here is that homeowners' associations are full of self-important busy-bodies. He must have consented to the rules when he bought the house though. I do hope he wins based on the Freedom to Display the Flag Act, but he should have just gotten approval first.

I think I might come to this. I am ~15 miles away. I have a few "gun save lives" GCO buttons I could hand out.

PM me if you are coming, I don't have any type of GCO material even though I am a member so I will get one from you and wear it.

I usually eat breakfast with friends in Canton on Saturday morning. I don't see a reason why I wouldn't make it down there.
