OK so my buddy is having some problems. I had her pint 127.0.0.1, google.com and yahoo.com. She got responses for everything. But when she goes to open a web browser this Comcast help thing keeps coming up even though her homepage is yahoo.com

She says whenever she tries to go to another page it loads the Comcast thing.

Did she actually bother READING it? She may need to activate something or fill out a form or something.

Also check IE connection settings and verify there is no proxy server set.

Well that at least confirms the network card is good right?

Are you running any third party programs such as Peer Guardian?

Have you run a spyware scan?

Yeah thats what I was thinking, the MAC addy needs to be re-registered. But she has an internet connection, so I didn't think that's what needed to be done.

There is setting somewhere that is wrong or she needs to register the MAC.

pinging 127.0.0.1 only tells us that TCP-IP is working.
You can ping that without a NIC at all.
