    Hey guys,
I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT that I cannot get started. I put the key in and the chime goes off, but the key will not turn at all. I've taken the plastic off around the steering column and all that, but I can't see anything obvious. I've also tried both of the two factory keys that came with it. Any ideas?

it doesn't turn? I know this is stupid, but have you tried holding the steering wheel left or right while turning the key?

Yeah tried that... Another thing is that I can turn the wheel multiple turns in either direction, and it doesn't lock. Think it might be related?

well, probably related, yes. Sounds like broken lock cylindar or some linkage is bound up.

when you say you can turn the wheels multiple turns do the wheels move, as well?

Yeah, the wheels do move. I can go lock to lock in any direction.

broken lock cylindar or the steering column lock linkage is broken.

    (my guess)

Hm... all right... I just spent the last hour or so screwin with it, and still nothing. Do you know how to unlock the transmission selector so that I can get the thing into Neutral?
