all of a sudden, i can't remote connect to one of our servers (running win server 2003). i get an error saying "the system cannot log you on due to the following error: The RPC server is unavailable". i went to the server and logged in from there and checked everything. ran net start rpcss in cmd, checked services and all the remote access/connection/procedure are set correctly to either manual or automatic. what could be the problem? thanks...

"The RPC server is unavailable" error is THE single most vauge error Microsoft ever created. It basically tells you nothing since there are so many possibilities.

Check the event viewer for system and application errors and make sure all of your services are running.
