    Do both.

I'm trying to decide if I want SC my M103 or do a swap and go with N/A motor. I'm planning on doing this shit this summer when I get my second car.

Seems like a no brainer to me. If the M3 is what you really, really want as you state, then get it. In the process, if you can afford to keep and fix the 318 then do that. If you can't keep both then get rid of the 318. What's the prob??:dunno:

If you are buying a $7500 E30 M3, then keep the 318. You will need it while the M3 is in the shop...

    You want to turbo a $7500 M3?

    Keep the 318. Ibexplosion.

The 318 probably has an open 4.11 or something like that, right?

And if it is a POS, why would you want to spend all that money on it? Cut your losses and get rid of it.

I say this as someone who has polished far too many turds in his life.

Keep the 318 & fix it for a daily driver, and purchase the M3 and work on it as a track car :bigthumb:

S14 responds very well to turboing. Buy the M3 :)

Or keep the E30 and transplant an M50 or something similar into it :)

ive never heard of the s14 responding well to FI :dunno:

$7500 could either be a steal or about right for a car that will need a lot of work. most likely the latter. the pic does look clean and straight tho. either way i wouldnt put an e30 m3 through daily driver duty. if it were me, i would sell the 318, buy the m3 and pic up a cheap honda for everyday commuting

You lead a sheltered life dempsy :p I can think off the top of my head 3 vehicles that ran the S14 in turbo form. Each produced slightly under the 300hp mark. But the important one in the mix is this beast. Runs a T04 @14.5 psi for a peak power of 350bhp.

Not too bad in that little thing.

M20 is a far better engine for turbocharging though, some of the figures a few of the german places are getting out of them (over 400NM of torque) is pretty damn flash when you consider the cars are lucky to weigh 1200kg.

I was in high school at the time this thread was made and E30 M3s were cheap. I wish I had money at that time :wtc:

take the e30 and call strictly german in grover NC and get a e36 m50 swap it in and enjoy a very fun little car.

you will need a few other things like a 5 series oilpan just little odds and ends like that to make the swap. i did this a few years back and boosted the m50 it was a very quick little car
