A&P Cant decide, input please!!

    I need a tele lense........

    Option A.

    Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L


    Good thing is its an L lense, but no IS....and in stock

    Option B.

    [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS

    Good thing is its an IS lense, but not L.....cant afford both.....but on back order till god knows when
    :o But also another 100mm of tele

    Any suggestions on a better decision??

    it's overpriced for what it is. a few extra hundred and it's in the 70-200 f/2.8L IS price range.

    I saw a few 70-200 f/4.0L used for $480 on Fredmiranda.com last night.

    Easy choice, get the L, the 70-300 is not as good of a lens.

    70-200 and then get a 1.4 converter. You'll have a better quality lens and if you need to get close to 300 you can put the converter on and have a 280 f/5.6 that will still be sharper and much better quality than the 70-300.

    the 70-300 is crap. I have a broken ne as a paper wieght int he other room. Only decent in full sunlight
