Yup. Started using it when I shot some sports and now I use it for everything. Works out a lot better for me since I'll always manually meter off something when I take a picture. :dunno:

Is he just referring to a specific aspect of this focus option, then?
    I'm easily confused... :)

I see a * button on the upper right back of my camera but when I press it, no AF points light up when using the settings where pushing it makes a * show up in the viewfinder display. (I usually have it on 'M' and no * in the window then... ).
Being used to the old 35mm cameras I tend to treat it like one in terms of doing everything manually 90% of the time & there's still a lot of feature-functions on this blasted camera I barely know how to use. :big grin:

its hard to explain, i cant think of the words to explain it in a way that makes sense...

what this function does, is it makes it so autofocus is no longer obtained by half pressing the shutter button, instead you autofocus with the * button. the 20d does not have the X button next to the * button, but on the 10d it does. on the 10d you would use the * to auto focus using all 7 autofocus points, and the X button to autofocus using a single predetermined autofocus point.

:dunno: if that helped or further confused you
