A&P Canon SX20 v G11 - Uncle looking for camera to replace his old P&S

    Before I start looking at the specs, which would you suggest to a family member? So far he likes the SX20 cuz of the long zoom.

    does the sx20 suck at high iso? that line of cameras was never great over like 200/400

    If your family is anything like you, they won't be happy until they have a D90, 35mm, and 55-200. Tell him to get that.

    If he likes the long zoom then go for the sx20. Not sure how the G11 performs at higher ISO, but I'd imagine it isn't all that great.

    Better than most P&S cameras because it uses a larger sensor. I think the S90 has the same sensor.

    saw pics at 3200 with the g11. they look fantastic

    the sx20 probably blows over 400 or 800. i owned the s5, which was 2 before the sx20 i believe. the s5 was great. you had to always shoot it at iso 80 or 100 though so it wouldnt be grainy. i heard the sx10 was a hunk of shit.
