    Canon PowerShot SD900

    -or-

    Kodak EasyShare V1003

    ???

The canon is $359 and the Kodak is $179. Normally I'd get the Canon no-questions-asked but the price on the Kodak is very tempting.

okay, so general concensus is the canon is worth the money over the kodak? (kinda figured the kodak was too good to be true)

there are canons at almost every price point & most are better than comparable brands. you dont need to buy that one, but ime canons are much better than kodaks.

Well, I have a SD300. I loved that camera, but (like a dumbass) I left it in my pocket and fucked up the screen:

So now I'm looking for a replacement. I know mine was only 4.0Mpx... But I figure it'd be best to get a better camera, and so would the SD900 be the best point&shoot?

in the world of small point and shoot cameras there are only 2 brands i would consider, fuji f series and canon sd series. and i went with the fuji f10 about years ago and don't regret it at all.

i just bought one. ebay for $335 shipped, NIB.

this sub-forum has enticed me to see what can be done w/ a point and shoot. the photography here is (IMO) amazing.

i do realize im not going to take anywhere near as nice of pictures as w/ a DSLR, but i didnt spend a grand on a camera and years perfecting my light setup either.

yes I still have the camera. It still takes great pictures, however the screen does not work at all. You can use the viewfinder to see what you're taking a picture of, but the menu is unusable as a result of no screen. Canon will fix it for $98 or so... But I figure I would probably just buy a new camera, instead.

    what's your offer?

I see some sites selling the sd900 for $279.... Why would I go with teh 850 over the 900?

so it's basically slightly better optics while sacrificing speed and size?

Do they make a 10mpx IS?
