Does anyone have this camera? I'm looking at getting a new camera and I'm wondering if this is a good one. It looks good but I'm curious if any of you have first hand experience with it. :x:

i have the a80. i dont like it really at all. it doesnt do closeups or very far away. you have to hold your hand super still and the flash is garbage. not worth the money if you ask me.

That's the problem I have with my cam...it's only 3MP and if you don't hold *completely* still it comes out blurry. :( And I can't get a macro pic out of it.

So what do you think..the A70 or the S50..which looks very nice.

what kind f cam do you have now?
tha A70 is also a 3MP.. the blurriness isnt gonna be somved by any camera unless you spend a few grand for a lens with image stabilization.. a tripod if your friend, that and a faster shutter speed
the S50 is a pretty good cam but personally i dont like the lens on it, its too small but its fits the cam, its nice and compact

what kind of things do you want to do with this cam?

    I have 2 cams right now, a kodak 2MP one which is ok..and a 3MP Fujifilm Finepix 4800Zoom. I can't get it to do a good macro pic. :(

no, fuji cams are not bad at all, i used to have a 2600zoom and it was a pretty good cam but after playing with various canon cams and playing alot with the G5, i know thats going to be my next cam, unless the G6 comes out by the time i finally get around to ordering one.. prices on the G5 is dropping like crazy too its so tempting to order it, its currently about $493 shipped

Get the A70 I love mine,. no problem with blurry pics, the macro mode is pretty decent,. 3x optical zoom is great too, and the choice to go full auto,. full manual or anything inbetween :big grin: Save the money and get the A70

the only thing you get for the extra $100 for the A80 is an extra megapixel crammed onto the same CCD sensor as the A70, a swivel screen and a 9 point AiAF (autofocus) vs a 5 point

spend that extra hundred bucks and get a lense adapter and a telephoto lense,. or wide angle for the A70. Or a bigger card and a good set of rechargables.

    A70 Brotherhood represent!

I love my A70.. it could be better, but for the money, it's a great camera..

I think in a while I might step up to a DSLR, but for now while I am learning, an A70 is great..

It also does great macro shots.

I dunno..maybe I'll just stick with my fujifilm, it has a 3x optical zoom as well.
