Thoughts on this printer? People are dumping BNIB units on craigslist with the UPC cut off for the rebates for around $250. Should I jump on this? Retails for $500. :noes:

ive been using a epson photo stylus r2400 at work for a gallery i have coming up (vote @ www.naderdoleh.com for what pics get posted :x:)

although it took some time to setup the printer to my system/calibrate it, its amazing. ive printed off 7 13x19's and honestly...it put my pictures in a whole other perspective :o the quality of the pictures is really shown at that size.

sorry dont know if this is helpful, this is my first time using a photo printer

most people don't need a nice professional level printer like this one :o

    Product Dimensions: 13.9 x 26 x 7.6 inches ; 41 pounds

fuck this is gonna be heavy and cumbersome to take home :o

if cl is flooded with them, wait a few days and I'll write up a quick review.

I realized that this printer doesn't come with any photo paper, so I grabbed a 100 pack of canon glossy II with overnight shipping (i made it 30 minutes before the cutoff ) from amazon prime. came out to $15 and i'll have the paper tomorrow along with my printer  amazon prime ftmfw.

There was a rebate for buying the Canon T1i + the Pro9000 printer and get a $400 rebate. Some folks, including myself, bought the deal through Amazon and are unloading the printer via Craigslist. I figure if I sell the printer and my old Rebel XT, it will pay for the new T1i. :bigthumb:

    Hope this helps.

man, this shit is so heavy. my arms are dead from carrying it home during my commute. people on the subway stared at me for carrying such a fucking huge ass box around.

    anyway, first thing is

YOU NEED TO BUY A SEPARATE USB CABLE
    [IMG]
You need one exactly like this with the normal male USB on one end and the peripheral end on the other. I had one from a Canon scanner so I lucked out.

I installed all the drivers and right now it's aligning the print heads. I'm gonna print out a test picture soon and i'll let you guys know how it came out.

I printed out a couple and they came out nicely. I'll upload them after I give them some time to dry.

One pic came out fine but I forgot to check off borderless printing, so it has a white border.

    Another one came out perfectly.

Two others have paper feeding issues. it took it in slightly crooked and there is a small edge where it didn't print. I think I'll need to load more than one sheet of paper at a time to prevent that :o

well, my lighting in my room is shit, so sorry for the shitty pictures. my shots really don't do the pictures justice. they came out beautifully, particularly the first shot, and the shot of the little boy in the blue jacket. the pic next to the blue jacket boy was with the default settings out of the box so it doesn't look that nice. The one with the three women is a bit too dark, so I'll have to adjust that and try printing it again. the woman in sunglasses holding up the peace signs came out beautifully as well.

http://i46.tinypic.com/2ziaqmx.jpg (left picture was another paper misfeed, so messed up on the bottom right)

ok this paper misfeed is continuing to happen :o the next 2 pictures i printed out have the same bullshit. the way that the printer opens up the tray is so sudden and the paper seems to fall out of alignment

ok nvm I was doing something wrong :o

having trouble with the blues on certain pictures. they are bleeding a lot :o gotta play with the settings a bit.

make sure to set photoshop to manage the colors, not the printer :o

What I normally do with my current printer, because of feed issue, is stack standard paper underneath the photo paper and i only load in one sheet of photo at a time

Seems to take care of the misfeed issues, also make sure the little slider doo dad is against the paper keeping them vertically aligned but not bowed
