So currently I have a 20D and do my thing with that... but sometimes in I just don't like carrying around that much $$$ worth of equipment. Looking for a nice Canon P&S but I don't have much experience with any.
I want to spend less than $250 (newegg, etc)
Can't be too inconvenient to put in a pocket or hold onto for long periods of time. Keep in mind, anything is better than my 20D+gear. This is also for clubs and events and stuff like that.
    Functional manual mode is important
    IS is a plus
Video mode settings and quality are important as well. Low light, audio controls? Anything is a bonus.
I'm leaning towards the A line of stuff and I guess the 720?

    Canon PowerShot A720 IS 8MP 6x

    Canon SD750 7.2MP 3x

    and for fun

my mom has the a720 is and it seems to be a great point and shoot with more features than most have.

edit - my mom got hers for about 150 on clearance at office depot/max, one of those two

i've had the Canon A95 for a long time now, and it's a great camera. functional manual mode, too.

it's old, so i'm not sure what the replacement is, but it looks similar to that A720.

    i'd get that one

the a720 is in the same family as the a95. now there are a ton more a series models each year, not just the 3 that were out when the a95 came out :o
