What do you want to shoot? What do you want to do with the camera?

    everything!

Just a good all around camera. I like landscapes and rundown urban stills, portraits, maybe weddings eventually, events, motorsports, architecture, etc.

I just want a camera that will do it all.

Maybe I should just keep the 30d?

    Landscapes - 5D2. FF, 21MP, and 16-35 or 17-40 = win
Rundown Urban Stills/Architecture - Same thing as a landscape but now its buildings. 5D2
Portraits/Weddings - 5D2 again. Obvious low light king as it stands now. The 5D was the cornerstone of wedding photography and the 5D2 is all that and more
Motorsports - 5D2 again. FF when you need it and you can crop the shit out of a picture for added "reach" and still have a 10MP+ image.

Really, the only time I probably would have suggested something different is wildlife. Then I was have said MkIIN

    Meh...Its hard to say really.

Now that I have mine, I can say that I havent picked up the 5D classic since. It really is an amazing camera.

I guess in the end, I would say it is worth two 5D classics.

However, if you cant quite afford the 5D2, I think youd be better off getting a 5D classic and a good lens. Aside from the 5D2, the 5D takes the most wonderful pictures Ive ever seen and require the least amount of PP (althought I havent even really had a chance to shoot with the 5D2 below 6400 ISO :hs:)

The 5d would be the only thing worth upgrading to.

I've only got a 24-70 L right now that would work on a FF cam. Wanting a 70-200 f/2.8 IS, but I see myself making more monies shooting ppl. Maybe I'll just invest in a nigh lighting setup and keep the 30d. I'm all over the place :o

fuck it, ill just keep the 30d and invest in some nice lights. I can shoot portraits and headshots for monies, then upgrade my gear with that.

Get a 5D. Got mine yesterday and played around with it. The pictures it takes are just beautiful. Don't see myself using the 40D much anymore.

get a 85mm 1.8 for portraits. Saves you a ton of money than buying a new body

I wish I had something better than the 30D just because of the ISO performance.. that's why the 5D2 is so appealing, but I'm not gonna pay MSRP.
